Flavour profile.
The Mount Hagen barista espresso is a truly sophisticated pleasure
Pleasure. A blend of 4 different green coffees - from Papua New Guinea, Peru, Honduras and Uganda - all from 100% controlled organic cultivation. They are roasted in drum roasters in Hamburg for an exceptionally long and gentle dark espresso roast. This allows them to develop their character optimally - typical of Mount Hagen: intense and full-bodied, a multi-faceted combination of nut and chocolate flavours. A sophisticated organic espresso that will delight portafilter fans, especially on its own, but also as a cappuccino, latte macchiato or flat white.
Product details.
Like all Mount Hagen coffees, the beans for the barista espresso are
fair trade and come 100% from controlled, Naturland-certified organic cultivation. They are grown in small coffee gardens under shade trees, harvested and sorted by hand. And sun-dried for 5-10 days until they have reached their optimum residual moisture content of approx. 12%. The next refinement step then takes place in Hamburg: roasting. The Mount Hagen barista espresso is gently roasted in drum roasters at around 200° C for approx. 16-18 minutes, then sealed in aluminium-free aroma protection bags to preserve its intense chocolate and nut aromas.
Tip: The best way to store the barista espresso is in the
Mount Hagen coffee tin - airtight, dry and cool. But please do not put it in the fridge, as coffee very quickly takes on the odours of its surroundings.
